Kip Johnson began dancing at the age of 16, originally based in the South West of England. He moved to Lancaster, further focusing on contemporary dance, joining Ludus Youth Company. Kip graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) in 2009, receiving first-class honours in Choreography and the NSCD Performance Prize.
He has worked with Lea Anderson, Vincent Dance Theatre, Funny Bones, Tilted Productions, Seke Chimutengwende and Ultima Vez. Kip first worked with Protein in 2005 whilst a member of Ludus Youth Company. He researched LOL (lots of love) during The Place's Choreodrome in 2009 and participated in many of its subsequent tours in 2011 and 2012.
